Casino Royale ‘Bond Girl’ to be guest of honor of premiere CARAT+ jewellery show in May
ANTWERP, BELGIUM: MARCH 22, 2017 – When Caterina Murino playing the sultry Solange Dimitrios entered the Casino Royale in the 2006 film of the same name, and encountered a British secret agent at the poker table, she became the 71st member of one of the most celebrated and exclusive clubs in movie history, known as “the Bond Girls”. The Italian actress will be the guest of Honor of CARAT+ organisers, when the new diamond trade show premieres in Antwerp, May 7 to 9.
Hailing from the island of Sardinia to which she is very attached, Ms. Murino achieved world fame in the cinema with her breakout role acting along side of Jean Reno in the 2004 French comedy L’ enquête Corse (The Corsican File), before being casted to play the villain’s wife who is seduced by James Bond, played by Daniel Craig. She is also the Goodwill Ambassador of AmRef (African Medical and Research Foundation), a role which she takes to heart.
“With CARAT+ scheduled to become the world’s reference show dedicated exclusively to diamonds and diamond jewellery, we wished to bring back the glamour associated with this luxury category,” said Filip Van Laere, the CARAT+ Event Director. “We are very happy to have Ms. Murino to take the lead-role at our first edition of CARAT+, especially since she has a real passion for diamonds and is also a talented jewellery designer herself."
Ms. Murino will do a red-carpet entry to the show on the evening of Sunday May 7th ,when special guests will gather at the CARAT+ Diamond Nocturne, a glittering evening event celebrating the launch of the new trade fair.
