Jonathan Chippindale, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Holition, kicks off the CARAT+ Conference 2018 with a talk titled, ‘Digital Storytelling: How Brands Use Technology to Innovate.’ The award-winning creative studio specialises in premium digital experiences, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. Prior to establishing Holition, Chippindale held senior positions at De Beers Group, Asprey, Garrard and Mappin & Webb.
AWDC: Hack4Diamonds and the Antwerp Diamond Experience Dome

We will be joined by glamorous British actress and model, Elizabeth Hurley, as show ambassador and special guest. The iconic film and TV star will open CARAT+ Night, before meeting exhibitors and discovering the loose diamonds, diamond jewellery and coloured gemstones on display.

Avi Krawitz, Senior Analyst and News Editor at Rapaport, will host a talk titled, ‘Unstuck From the Rock and the Hard Place’, focusing on the squeeze on the diamond trade and how to navigate a market where the only constant is change. His insightful presentation will offer an overview of the issues impacting diamond dealers and manufacturers, while exploring solutions for businesses in the midstream to grow in today’s difficult environment.
GIA: GemFest with Executive Vice President, Tom Moses

The second edition of CARAT+ sees the inaugural participation of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Executive Vice President and Chief Laboratory and Research Office, Tom Moses, will speak at a GIA GemFest on the second day of CARAT+. GIA will also be offering live demonstrations of its GIA iD100TM gem testing device throughout the show.

HRD Antwerp: Synthetic Diamond Detection

Diamond grading specialists, HRD Antwerp, will present two insightful lectures on the final day of CARAT+. Chief Officer of HRD Antwerp’s Diamond Lab & Research, Ans Anthonis, will discuss new solutions for the identification of synthetic diamonds, including the company’s new ‘D-Tect’ device, which will be launched at CARAT+. Chief Officer of Education & Industry, Katrien De Corte, will discuss ‘Diamonds under Black Light’ – a detailed study of the fluorescence grades of one million diamonds analysed by HRD Antwerp.

We are thrilled to announce that CARAT+ exhibitor International Gemological Institute (IGI) will host a MiniLab at CARAT+ 2018, allowing fellow exhibitors and visitors the chance to have their diamonds certified at Antwerp Expo. Further details will be announced in due course.
Don’t Miss! Bonas Polished Diamond Tender at CARAT+ 2018
Exhibitors and visitors are cordially invited to participate in a special Bonas Polished Diamond Tender, to be held at CARAT+ from Sunday, May 6 to Tuesday, May 8. Viewings will take place at Stand 1A-2, next to the VIP area, from 10:00 until 18:30 on Sunday and Monday, and until 16:30 on Tuesday. The sale will close on Wednesday, May 9 at 15:00 Antwerp (CET) time and will be an online highest bid tender via bonasbids.com. The tender will present a broad range of white polished diamonds of various sizes, qualities and shapes; from melee parcels to certified singles and exclusive large special stones.
